I wanted to buy a extra micro usb cable for light charging at school and work and was wondering if there are any specifications for the kind I need. I've seen 4 pin and 5 pin versions and didn't want to get the wrong one.

So the Droid came with a 3' cable. My night-stand docking station also came with a (too short) 3' cable. At NewEgg, I bought a 6' and 10' Micro-USB cable so any of these 4 can be used anywhere - including the car with the addition of one of these:
    Newegg.com - usb cigarette lighter

There are a bunch of USB to Cigarette Lighter adapters. Now you're golden.

I bought a 3ft retractable at the drug store. Works great. It also plug's into my friends usb-ac wall adapter and charges the phone at a good rate.

    Forums ate my previous post:

    $1.63 - 10' cable
    $2.02 - 15' cable
    $1.16 - car charger

10 and change delivered. Can't beat it.

Make sure to choose one that outputs as many mA as possible. Otherwise you run the risk of draining your battery while using GPS even if connected to a charger.

The one I ordered (and linked earlier) for $1.16 does 1000 mA, so I think I'm set.
