Might switch from eris to droid

I might switch from my eris to the droid for the keyboard and more accessories. I like my Eris even more now that I have updated it to the 2.1 leaked version. I had a few questions about the droid. 1) My eris shows weather animation on the screen after I unlock it, Does the Droid? ( stock or updates 2.1 Droid) 2) How is the slide out keyboard? 3) How is the battery life ( please state how heavy you use it) 4) Can the droid (stock or 2.1) do live wallpapers? 1) droid does not have the Sense UI but there is work porting it
2) keyboard is very subjective. I like it a lot, others hate it.
3) battery life stinks like all smart phones. Better charge it every night.
4) droid does(tm) live wallpapers with the right ROMs. I'm using BB0.9 and it does LWP with interaction

Good luck, ditch the Eris, you won't be sorry.

Ok. yea I just don't want to lose the weather animations. I like unlocking my phone and seeing the clouds float by. Do you need to have the droid rooted to use live wallpapers?

Yes, I believe you do need to have a custom ROM (which in turn means you rooted, which is very simple by the way). I can appreciate the clouds floating by, but really the Droid is just better hardware and I wouldn't let that single thing hold you back. There's so much more you can do!
