Help milestone won't turn on, on one push

Hi, I'm new here. Just got a Milestone. There seems to be a problem I'm running into. When I first push the power button or open the slider, the screen is suppose to turn on. Mines doesn't, I have to push the power button three times before I can get to the unlock screen. I've brought the phone into a repair person and he said there's no phyical problem and there might be something with the hardware. I've looked through as much of the handset as I could to figure out what's wrong but can't seem to find a solution. If someone could help, that would be greatly appreciated.
