My Mini Pro is sitting on my desk next to my old Treo 650. They are both on the same network, T-Mobile UK, but the Mini pro shows no signal while the Treo shows 5 bars, ie a full strength signal.

If I power down the Mini Pro and then power up it will show a signal for about 10 minutes and then loses it. The only way I can get a signal is to power down and up again.

    Any ideas anyone?

I think I might have found the answer after finding someone with a similar problem on another forum.

It looks like the SIM card wasn't making a good contact.

I took it out, wiped it to make sure there were no greasy finger marks and very gently bent it to make a slight curve.

It now makes better contact and so far the phone seems to be keeping a signal.

I was told to do that by Tmobile when I first got my X10 and it wouldn't recognise the sim. I was a bit horrified but gave it a very gentle bend and I've been fine ever since. Sometimes its really simple things that are causing the problem not some major software fault. Glad you are sorted.
