My Desire has got to go back to Vodafone because it won't charge any more, the Micro USB socket has become faulty. Has anyone else on here had the same problem? and is there a solution.

    Its Micro USB. Not mini.

    Haven't had the problem myself.

My microUSB port is pretty mashed up from dropping it :-/ Not looking forward to inevitably having to get it fixed...

No issue with mine, though wish the casing for it was more like the N1 rather than sitting proud of the slope of the case.

    My mistake Danfrance, Micro USB...
Nevertheless it's going to have to be replaced and after only 5months I think that's poor quality, I'm not over exuberant in connecting the charger, in fact if anything I'm usually quite careful.

They're rated for about 1500 uses (In and out) if I recall. Should be adequate, and mine has served me well. :)

No trouble here; I am using the original power cable, although I just bought a dock.

I'd be interested in knowing if Saint is using just the cable, or a dock as well?

Your USB socket has become faulty for similar reasons some iPhones have antennae issues and others dont (or some Nokia N8s don't power up and others do)- sh*t happens.
I am happy that your phone is still in warranty though- at least you won't have to pay for it.
Cheers and good luck in future.

Micro USB has a 10,000 cycle rating. Should be enough for most people. ;)
