Missed Call notification

Hi

I had a windows OS phone from HTC.The little led on the top of the phone use to blink whenever I miss a call or get a message.I see little led lights for this phone too..but That is not blinking when I miss a call..ihad to activate my home screen to check whether i got something..do i need to activate this feature in some settings or...this phone does not have that feature at all....

please help
