Weird. I have a Captivate. I transfer an mkv file onto an external sd card, plug it in, launch a player and works perfectly. The next time I try it (after I've turned off and on the phone again), it doesn't work. It gives me a System cannot play file error.

    Anyone else experiencing the same?

I've tried various players (Rock, arcMedia), and also made sure to kill all apps in case it was memory issue and but no luck.

Though I had heard earlier that Galaxy S plays almost *all* type of files I was disappointed when it refused to play many files from my collection. Just when I was thinking about doing the time consuming process of conversion I downloaded rockplayer and till now it has played everything.

There might be 1-2 vague files that rockplayer is not able to play but if it is the problem with most files then there is surely some issue. Also files over 4 gb want be played. Thats the limitation of FAT file system.
