Root MMS and Handcent w/ Froyo

MMS was working fine with 2.1 through Handcent, but no longer with Froyo. I figured out the timestamp bug- the fix was to remove/rename conversations.apk... But I'll be damned if I can get MMS to work. Anyone?

its because you removed messages.apk and conversations.apk. if you put them back you will have MMS again.

I didn't remove anything and handcent won't send any mms, even with a clean sbf flash before loading froyo

Nope. Afraid you are incorrect on that. I started with both installed and MMS didn't work, I then removed conversations.apk to fix the timestamp bug, I then added it back to see if it would fix MMS... It didn't. Note that I did not remove messaging.apk.

Are you saying that you are able to send a picture through Handcent on Froyo? You have confirmed this? Or are you just speculating...

Okay, thanks. Doesn't really help much, but it is nice to know that MMS is working for others, although there appear to be quite a few threads related to this exact problem with both Handcent and ChompSMS...

mms is not working here for me. Extremely annoying as I cannot seem to get it working in the stock messages app either so I cannot send them at all. Hopefully handcent will issue a fix sooner than later...

Handcent would not send picture messages for me after the update. so I uninstalled and re-installed... still not working so I just went back to using the default messaging app which is working fine.
When Handcent has 2.2 support i will go back to it.

I also can not send MMS pics with Handcent, I have no issues sending them through the stock messaging app though. I also have no issues recieving MMS pics in handcent.....eagerly awaiting a solution

Funny thing - Handcent did have 2.2 support on the original Droid, rooted with Froyo. Worked perfectly there...

There is a new update in Market and it says it fixed the timestamp issue (which I did not notice) and the MMS sending issue. I just tried to send a MMS and it looks like it send, I am just waiting to hear back from my wife if she got it or not.

Yup, downloaded the latest Handcent update and MMS is fixed!
