mms animations

Hello everyone i have the motorola electrify when i get a mms message that is animated on the senders phone it wont animate on mine . any idea what i can do to get these mms messages like pictures animated when i recieve them. I am not rooted and i use handcent for messaging.I called us cellular and they said that android doesnt support animated messaging i dont think this is true i know people with an android that get animated mms messages all the time.
