Why is it that MMS can only be sent through the network and not WIFI on the droid X? On the Evo I was able to send MMS messages through WIFI even if I had no network connection????

MMS messages on the Droid X will not send over WIFI, they will only send over the VZW network. If you have figured out a way to get MMS to send over WIFI please tell me how....

    you sound very determined.....

Tell me what your signal states when YOU send a video message over wifi on your htc evo. the only thing i can find on the evo is that when on wifi and you try to send a mms, the phone uses sprint temporarily and then shuts the sprint service off when done.

that is exactly how the X handles it as well.

I just sent 3 photos and a video.

Maverick I may be wrong, but werent you in this section arguing about your evo just last week? I could have sworn it was you and somebody called you out on it.

LMAO, yes I'm determined. When I had my Evo and was connected to WIFI in my house I was able to send MMS messages strictly over WIFI I never saw the Evo kick in and use Sprints network for it. Especially in my basement where I had no Sprint coverage at all. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure it would use the WIFI network.

Yes no doubt I argued about the Evo, but I did own the Evo for a period of time. I now own the Droid X and so far am very happy with it, then again I have only had it for a day....

it's a Verizon thing. you have to be on EVDO to send/receive MMS. the MMS will sit in a queue, and it will be sent next time your phone is on EVDO w/o wifi.

MMS are pictures and videos messages? while SMS are just regular text messages.

SMS is text only. MMS can include video/pictures too.
