Mobile Hotspot

I switched from a Palm Pre to a Droid Razr Maxx. The hotspot on the Palm Pre was always free - no monthly charge. The salesperson @ Verizon told me no problem - there would be no difference in my statement. Boy did I get a surprise when I tried to connect my laptop the first time and found out that there would be an additional $30 monthly charge. Now I only have access to the internet on my phone which is unacceptable.

Aside from giving in and turning over more of my hard earned money to Verizon does anyone have any suggestions.

The Verizon rep misinformed you.

That being said, verizon will not offer you back the unlimited free hotspot. You will have to choose between the razr or the unlimited free hotspot.

Or root to gain free hotspot. But it will not be unlimited.
