Could you please help me in the following question. How a free QR/bar code reader app is monetized? What is the advantage and profit for developer who creates it?

Does he get paid by online stores for search results or clicks?

I believe that you would have to sign up for an affiliate marketing program to get paid for purchases that clicked through rom your website. However, there are already about 30 free QR-code/barcode apps on the market. I'm not sure why you'd want to be number 31 or go head-to-head with Google Goggles. If you're trying to make money, I'd recommend doing something else with your skills.
