    Hey all,

Just a quick question for those of you who know the marketplace pretty well...

I really want to upgrade to LP for my phone, but there are two moto widgets that I really like but can't seem to find similar replacements.

One of them is the calendar widget and the other is the weather widget.

What I'm looking for is an app that displays the current date and the next upcoming event. I've found a few, but they take up too much space for my tastes. I'm trying to keep these two on the home screen for easy viewing.

Secondly I'd love a weather widget which could display the weather information in a small amount of space. Pictures are not necessary, I could live with text descriptions.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You can use the moto widgets on LP, you just cant resize them. So go ahead and use those widgets.

Sorry didn't mention this in the first post, but yes that's the reason I want alternatives in LP: because of the size! The moto widgets would be fine, but their default size and the lack of resizing in LP just make them a bit strange on the screen. Not so clean looking...

Nice app! I now have a small weather app perfect for the home screen! It's even nicer than the original moto widget! Kudos on the suggestion!

Still needing a small calendar widget though...

Right now I'm using a 1x4 size which is perfect for displaying the date and upcoming events in a banner-like form.

    Know of anything like that?

Try Gemini Calendar. It has two different 1x4 widgets. One of them has the date and three upcoming events. The other 1x4 just has the three events. I actually use the 2x4 widget because it shows more events and I have Beautiful Widgets for the date/time/weather.

Thanks for the suggestion! I tried it out and they have a 4x1 which is exactly what I wanted, but it ended up looking a bit tacky with the gemini "II" under the date. Tried changing that but couldn't find the option. They have a beautiful minimalist one, but it doesn't show today's date! That was a major bummer.

I ended up going with another one called Android Agenda Widget. It comes in every shape possible and is completly customizeable. I've got it set to minimalist and it just hovers over my background with the current date and upcoming events. I'll switch between them and see which one flows better...

Looks like I'm ready to jump to LP! :D

    Android Agenda Widget

The absolute best calendar widget IMO. It also will add info there from certain to do list apps so that everything that is on your "schedule" is shown. I use it in conjunction with Astrid Tasks, works beautifully, but also works with several different apps if you prefer something else.
