I was told with the Incipio Droid X case that you can use the extended battery without buying the extended battery cover, since the case goes over it. Can anyone confirm this 100%?

I know the Incipio won't fit the extended battery w/ the extended cover. Thanks.

Not a good idea to use the case without a cover, IMO. You're talking about exposing the guts of your $600 phone. What are you going to do if some dirt gets under the case - or worse, what are you going to do if you get the slightest amount of water under the case (rain or something) and the water goes right into the circuitry rather than being kept out by the battery cover?

So far so good, I have my phone unplugged for 10 h 50 m and I am at 40% and I have used it quite heavily including 30 minutes watching Slingbox on full brightness. Lots of texts and emails, no phone calls however but I am impressed.

I've been using mine in my Body Glove rubberized case without the battery cover. If I'm going to near any dirt or rain my phone is in my pocket, sometimes I even throw it in a zip lock back just to be safe.

Hey, it's your phone. Far be it from me to tell you how to use it... Just making sure the guy takes that into consideration before he runs around with a phone that has a big ol' hole in the back.

We all take calculated risks. If you're okay with that risk, do it... and I run mine with no case at all, so it's not like I'm not running a calculated risk myself.

Finally, after this whole mess I received my extended battery + cover! I'm definitely weary of doing business with Motorola (direct) again...discount or not.

Most of these have comparable prices on Amazon or at least did when I checked 2 weeks ago. Got the DX dock for $30.00 including shipping.

Extended battery is worth every penny!

You need to order the battery door, the original door will fit, but it will also damage your screen after a while.
