Wanting to know if my phone is rooted or not and if possible is there a way to check and see...
Hello and welcome to Android Forums.
I check to see if devices are rooted by downloading Root Explorer (or other apps requiring root privileges to run, many are free) from Market, then attempting to grant the app "su" ("superuser") status.
If that succeeds, the phone is rooted.
Another way is simply to use a terminal emulator and type in "su." Again, if that succeeds it's obvious you have a rooted device.
There are many ways, those are the ways I do it.
I put your question in the Droid forum for you.
Take care, have fun.
best app for checking if your phone is rooted is any of the terminal emulators on the market. There are a few free ones. Open the terminal app and type su then enter. If the $ on the left changes to a # you are rooted. If it says permission denied you are not.
tried the android termial emulator and it said permission denied so im not rooted...sooooooo what do u believe the best rooting guide to use for both rooting with/without a computer??? if any could u post a link
