Mount Windows Shares in android

I searched, and I found this:
http://androidforums.com/android-applications/176403-mount-windows-shares.html

eventually the posts in that thread stopped going towards what I hoped they would, so I am re-posting this question here.

I want to mount a windows share on an android os, just like it is possible to mount smbfs in linux.

I don't want to temporarily access a windows share with some SmbClient, I want it permanently mounted in some path so *EVERY* app can access it the same way they can access my mounted sd-card.

found these apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ws.plattner.cifsmanager
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.twimager.cifsmanager

they were the only apps I found that claimed to truly be able to mount what I thought would be a windows share.

but they failed detecting my windows shares, which led me to the conclusion that cifs is not smbfs, even though in ubuntu both "mount-types'-names" can be used to mount windows shares, and also that I might need to install a cifs server.

I am not interested in installing anything in windows to make this happen.

Is there a way to mount smbfs in android?
