Ive tryed soooo many dif video encoders, even the ones mentioned on this forum, & cant get 1 single vid to work on my htc hero. i downloaded a sample vid that works, & ive matched the specs of that vid to the ones i make & nothing.
starting vid = Aqua Teen Hunger Force, .avi @ 224x176 @ 24fps FOURCC = YV12, 44100 @ 64 mp2.

trying to convert to - .mp4, @ 480x320 @ 23.976fps @ FOURCC = avc1 & aaclc @ 48000 & 96kbps.

does anybody have a tryed & true way to get these vids to work, links, anything.

thanks in advanced

& BTW im very computer savvy, & used to RIP & convert DivX movies for many many yrs, w/ over 400 DVD quality movies on 700mb CD's

Crickey that must have cost a fortune to buy over 400 Dvd's :rolleyes: anyway I use videora Android converter and my vids play fine in the normal video player on my Hero I just use the T-mobile device setting @ H.264 480x320 768kbps Stereo/128kbs. Is the problem caused by you trying to upscale a resolution to a bigger size by looking at the video you got?

Take a look at the Best Video Format & Properties thread. Maybe there's some combo in there you haven't tried yet?
thanks, but after more messing around, ive got my mp4's to play on the phone using any of my encoders.
the prob i thought i had, i didnt. what i was trying to do was stream vids from PC to HERO using gmote, & it works, but only works w/ a sample mp4 vid i downloaded, & i was trying to stream other mp4's w/ gmote, but even if i match the vid specs on another mp4, they wont stream, says unsupported file, even though all vid specs are the same:thinking: as the sample vid:thinking:

i figured it out!!!!!!!!!!
i know how to make compatible mp4's for my hero, no prob,,,, what i was trying to do was stream the movies from pc to phone using gmote, so all you need to do is open your compatible mp4 (480*320, h.264 & aac) movie in quicktime & then go to file > export > Export: Movie to MPEG-4, then click options, file format = mp4 (not mp4 isma), & for both video & audio formats, select pass through for both & save.

the new mp4 should be able to stream from pc to phone w/ gmote.

i can do a step by step Pictorial Guide if needed.
