This app is a must have for any movie lover. It is packed with great features to help you find the best movies to watch at home or in a theater. Opening the App up gives you 5 tabs up top to select. The first tab is Box Office. You can use this to see what movies are currently out and what their current box office value is. Next you can see Theaters. This is great if you are traveling and don't know what theaters are around or even if you are at home and want to know what's playing at your local theater. This will show you what movie theaters are nearby and you can even pull up the address of the movie theater in Google Maps if you don't know how to get there. You can also see what movies are playing and for select theaters, you can even buy tickets from right within the app, although they do charge a $1.00 convenience surcharge. If you want to know what movies are going to come out soon, you can pull up the "Upcoming" tab. This will show you what movies are coming out on what dates, which can be very helpful if you want to plan a movie night a few weeks ahead of time. For people who prefer to stay at home, there is a "DVD" tab. In here, you can see new releases, or you can see DVD's that are coming soon. You can also browse through popular DVD's. Movies also allows you to connect the app to your Netflix account so that you can browse through Netflix and change your queue from within the App. You can also connect it with your Flixster account or your Facebook account, to connect with friends and share your ratings and what you've watched. A very helpful feature of Movies is the ratings system. Every movie that you view in the App, whether it's in theaters, on DVD, or not even released yet, has ratings from Rotten Tomatoes, a popular movie rating site. You can see both critic reviews as well as user reviews so that you can really know how good the movie is before you see it. You can also see a trailer for any movie to see if it looks good to you. If you want more information on a movie, Movies will link you to the IMDB, Flixster, or Rotten Tomatoes web page for that movie. I would recommend this app to any movie lovers. It will save you time as well as help you find a great movie to watch. And best of all, it's free.
