Root Multi-touch Keyboard for rooted 1.6 OS?

Are there any multi-touch keyboards for rooted 1.6 OS's? Better Keyboard says it supports multitouch, but is that only for 2.x firmware, or can it also be used on rooted 1.6 firmware?

I'm currently running the latest 1.6-based Cyanogen FW, if that helps any.

Have you tried using swype. I dont think it is multitouch but it recognizes your finger movement from one letter to another.
