Hi all, Please go easy on me as I'm new to all this.

This is more of a niggle than an actual problem.

I got a Dell Streak (Running 1.6) on Tuesday and after realising how easy it was to download and install applications I went a little mad.

As I send and receive a lot of emails I decided to try out a few different email browsers, So, I pretty much downloaded, Installed and setup every one I could find.

Sod's law, I found I liked the standard one best.

I then went into the "Manage Applications" bit and removed all of the ones I'd installed that I could find...... Trouble is that I still get two programs notifying me that I have new messages and I can't work out what the second one is.

I can't find reference to the name of the second program anywhere in the settings tabs.

I've thought about just blanking the email settings in the second one to kill the notifications, But as I come from an era where we were very aware of the finite nature if storage in our mobile (Lugable) computers I'd really prefer to remove the program.

I know this question is a bit like "My car's making a funny sound, What's the solution", But I'm wondering if someone out there has any ideas how I could sort this out, Or possibly just gently prod me in the general direction I should be looking in.

Chances are that after I get use to how everything in Android works and I figure out which downloaded programs are worth having and which are just taking up space I'll see if I can do a factory reset to it and set it up properly, But till then I'd just like to loose half of the constant "Dinging" it's doing at me.

Thanks in advance for any answers or hints provided.

    Reman.

Could it be the Mail/Google Mail apps that came with your device?

Ah, That was it, I looked at the bundled mail browser that's just called "Mail" but didn't think it was any better than the Google mail one.
I was sure I'd removed the account setting's from it already so I didn't think to double check it to see if that was the problem.

So there you are, I've just demonstrated that I'm really stupid...... Sorry

If you have non-Gmail accounts (that aren't polled by gmail) it's a lot better since the gmail app is quite useless for such accounts. ;)
