Multiple versions of HBOOT?

    Just curious if there are multiple HBOOT versions floating around on the PRIMOC Virgin Mobile handsets?

    I've been trying to use jmz's JmzOneV4 8-4-2012 ROM (and custom kernel). Whenever I flash the kernel (using "fastboot flash boot boot.img"), my handset is thrown into a bootloop. When I restore my original boot partition, handset works normally... Just wondering I have a newer HBOOT that is causing this to happen, or it is something else I'm doing wrong...My handset is currently on HBOOT-1.53.0000.

    Also, I've tried 1-2 other custom ROMs from xda-developers...WiFi doesn't seem to work on *ANY* of them, and flashing any other kernel (boot partition) throws my One V into a boot-loop.

    Are there any other versions of HBOOT for the HTC One V (Virgin Mobile)?

    Thank you for your help...

    There's not. Are you also flashing the kernel zip through your recovery? It contains libraries and other files needed to make the boot image work

    Flash rom
    Flash gapps if needed
    Boot into fastboot
    Plug into pc
    Push the image through adb
    Reboot into recovery
    Flash the boot image zip
    Reboot into system
    Have fun!

    These directions not just for you but for anyone with a similar problem. Before a couple days ago I had the same problems.

    I start by using TWRP v2.2.0 to backup system, boot and data. That completes successfully. Then I follow the steps below...

    1. Boot into Recovery (Using TWRP v2.2.0)
    2. Wipe menu->Cache (confirm)->successful (Back button when finished)
    3. Wipe menu->Dalvik Cache (confirm)->successful (Back button when finished)
    4. Wipe menu->Factory Reset (confirm)->successful (Back button when finished)
    5. Wipe menu->System (confirm)->successful (Back Button when finished)
    6. Main Menu->Install-> (confirm)
    7. JmzOneV4 Menu->"I Agree with Terms" checked->Next->Yes wipe data->Sense 4a Stockish Sense 4a->Launcher Stockish->Keyboard Without Arrows->SRS Panel NO->Applications (deselect Twitter, Virgin My Account, PopNetwork Browser, My Skydrive)->Widgets (no changes)->Themes (no changes)->Extra Space (no)->Smurfed Tweaks (yes)->Install Now->JmzOneV is now installed on your phone->Status: 0
    8. Boot into bootloader -> FASTBOOT USB
    9. On the computer "fastboot flash boot boot.img (boot.img was extracted from>fastboot on computer indicates success.
    10. Boot into recovery (TWRP v2.2.0)
    11. Install-> (confirm)->Successful
    12. Reboot System
    Now, the phone bootloops.

    If I flash the file from the backup, the bootloop stops, and the JmzOneV4 ROM loads. *HOWEVER*, wifi does not work!

    What am I doing wrong?

    I never saw the agreement menu but everything else should have worked... this should work without flashing a kernel if it's ics.

    I haven't tried the rom but I know the boot image works I've used it on cm9

    Edit: check your md5 of the kernel zip and rom zip

    The agreement is where he says you're voiding your warranty, and if you brick your phone, it isn't his fault...(when starting to flash JmzOneV4 rom)...

    Is it stock? If it is I recommend Harmonia

    MD5 ( = bf89009f35a78872f07505a591082d49
    MD5 (boot.img) = b040c31fcc8248f83a0d0bf70488ea55
    MD5 ( = d517277b9c8f5f35cee9365bab928801

    Links don't seem to provide md5's...They unzip on my computer without any errors...if they were corrupt, that wouldn't happen (theoretically)...

    I tried Harmonia...Didn't seem to have any customizations...No battery %, no APM, etc...Also seems WiFi didn't work with that one.

    With a rooted stock ROM, (and apps like Quick Boot, and Power Toggles--move to /system/app-- from play store), I've got my phone customized the way I like it...Just wish I knew what I was doing wrong with the custom roms/kernels...

    I'm not seeing a reason for that to happen
