Ok, so I know better than to install these leaks as they are buggy, but I've never had one brick my phone like this.
I was listening to the music player and now can't get the program to shut down. It won't force close, I shut it down and pulled the battery, when it re-boots it comes on again and the whole system goes fubar. I can't make calls or anything.
Anybody else with this issue? Any thoughts, advice?

It's been causing my phone all kinds of problems..

esp. loss of service and lack of ability to make calls. I'm beginning to understand why Moto issued a C&D.

Even after downgrading back to 2.1, i still have the same problems.

The music player did the same thing you described to me, although when I rebooted the phone it worked fine after that.

Me too, it was pretty scary though. But yeah I also am losing service occasionally in places where I have service. I will just get the red circle with a slash through it.

Uh oh... This reaffirms my feelings fully of why I won't do the leak. I have no idea how to get out of that. Are you rooted? Call verizon if nothing works and claim it being faulty on warranty if you have no other choice.

It seems that the music player crashes the phone when the phone rotates to the right. I have rooted my droid x and installed 2.2, pulled the battery and have not seen the problem since.

    ugggg.

This is the reason NO ONE should unofficially update their phone.

IMHPO - the users do not deserve to contact verizon and deal with making a mess with their $600 phone/paper weight.

And you wonder why there is a C&D order out because people are doing exactly this when the phone got jacked up with unofficial updates?

I tried to stay away from Froyo as long as I could when the leak came out (I lasted about an hour..). It still has bugs to be worked out for sure, but then again the current version of 2.1 has plenty of bugs too.

    Things I've noticed:

    1) The aforementioned media player problem, it's only happened once so far.

    2) Wi-fi seems kind of spotty when you have "switch to mobile data" set to 'never' in your wi-fi settings.

    3) Battery usage force closes sometimes.

Other than that, everything is much faster/smoother, the stuff I mentioned isn't really a show stopper so I'm glad I did the upgrade.

i reverted back to 2.1 and the bugs still persisted, so I ordered a new DX to come tomm.

I won't be using any more leaks on my new one.
