I'm on 2.1 and looking for a good media player. I keep my music in folders (too many mixed albums and non-tagged music), and want a player that will allow me to play my music by folder. Every player seems to do the artist/genre/album/etc. thing, but not the folder thing... -sigh-

    Thanks for any help.

Wow, amazing to me that there are SO many music players out there, and yet there are seemingly NONE that do something as simple as play music based on folders. Is coding an app with that feature difficult?

Sorry for the lag. I've tried MixZing in the past, and did not see a way to organize/play my music based on folders. Seems to have only the typical options that all of the other players have. Do you know something different (and I've re-loaded it, in case there has been some update, but still didn't get what I'm looking for)?

I've been trying a few players yesterday. Mortplayer seems like the only one that can handle folder setups.

Thanks for your stated preference, Tiddy, but unless you know how to manage folders in Mixzing, it does me no good.

As for Mort Player, it looks like it does do folders, but ignores parent folders (i.e., it goes from album folder to album folder, and not the folders as I've set them up). Going to play a bit with it, though, and see if I'm missing something...

I've got player pro and it allows you to navigate your music by the folder structure as it is on your sd as far as i can tell. I've not tried many music apps but it seems pretty good.

    Cheers

Cool! Thanks, neiljk. Could you tell me which player pro you have? I did a search on the Market, and there are over a dozen variations of that name.

    Thank you!

"Music PlayerPro" by Trstan Bigourdan is the one he's referring to. Great UI!
