Hi, I just picked up a droid x 2 days ago and I'm in love.. a nice change of pace from my old treowx :)
but there's one problem.. MP3s and AVIs have run fine, but eventually, i'll get "sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file." for the mp3s and and "Error, file cannot be displayed or played" for the avis. I haven't installed any new media players on my droid yet - so these are the pre-installed applications throwing the errors.
If I power it off and on, it works again...

I have installed other apps/games from the marketplace, but nothing unusual..

i searched and found another post about this from August, but no solution.
    Any ideas?

    thanks for reading!

Unfortunately, this is one of the common bugs introduced with the last update. Apparently it is suppose to be addressed in a future update, but no one knows for sure when that is set to arrive. Basically, your option is to download a 3rd party music player from the market and use that until the phone's software update arrives. Poweramp is pretty good. Give it a try.
