My computer no longer recognizes my Droid

I just purchased this droid about a week ago and everything had been working fine. I sync'd with doubletwist, I added pictures to it and it charged through the computer. Until last night when I plugged the USB into my computer and a window popped up saying it didn't recognize the USb device, this device has malfunctioned yada yada yada. Motorola doesn't know why, verizon doesn't know why, I can't claim it under warranty( i bought from a friend) and insurance doesn't cover it b/c its a "malfunction".

the phone works fine, I reset the phone, formatted the card and it still charges through the wall charger.

can anyone help?

bad usb port/bad cable? have you tried it with other cables or ports?

I've tried other ports on my computer and different computers even the verizon tech tried and it was the same issue.

I don't have another cable to try with

they should really give u a replacement. i can't think of anything else to try. im surprised a factory reset didnt fix your issue.
