So basically im getting a replacement because my ones a bit faulty, and I was wondering if my apps/photos/contacts etc will be saved to the SD card automatically, or do I have to do something in order to save them on it?

    Cheers

Apps won't be backed up. If you have paid apps you will be able to download them again from the Market without paying again.

Non-protected apps can be backed up with 'App Monster'

Photos should be on your SD card.

To backup contacts you should go into the 'People' app and press the Menu button.
Go to 'Import/Export' then 'Export to SD card'

Alternatively you can sync them all to Google so they will always download automatically from your Google account :)

    To do this..

I Exported them to SD card. Then pressed Menu again and imported them from SD card and chose the 'Google Contacts' option. You'll have a load of duplicate contacts now so Press Menu button go to 'View' and select only 'Google'.

Then go To your Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> Google -> Sync Now

Edit: Hmm making an edit removes the thanks :p

    Thanks

All of my apps are free, so does that mean I have to install them all again one by one?

Back them up using astro, then you can bulk reinstall them again using astro afterwards.

it will create a backup of all your apps on your sdcard. On the replacement simply downloads astro again and use its restore function.

If you have to send hte sdcard back with the phone, then just copy all contents of your sdcard to your pc, and copy them back onto the new sdcard.
