My intro and venture into Android

Hi all:

Here's my little introduction, having just joined this forum today.

Last week, I acquired a new (white) Samsung Galaxy S2, after using a Samsung Omnia i8910 HD for the past 2 years.
Familiarising myself with Android (Gingerbread), after Symbian (S60), takes a little while to get one's head 'round.
There is much to like about Android and I prefer its open source nature to that of iOS, not that Apple's products are shabby - far from it. The iPhone 4 - soon to be iPhone 5, is a fine piece of kit, but I deliberately chose the Galaxy S2 instead of it.

I look forward to learning more here and obtaining the assistance of other forum members, and, hopefully, eventually being able to offer help in return.

I know I have questions now and will have more...

There is a little bit of a learning curve when switching platforms, but Android is pretty friendly once you master the basics. If you have specific questions the best plase to ask would be in Samsung Galaxy S2 - Android Forums since every handset has it's own set of features and quirks.
