    Removed link

That is a letter I wrote to HTC 2 weeks ago. Just thought I would share.

I have been notified by them twice, that it has been sent through. So I am left to believe that.

I am thinking of going to my carrier and getting my money back. HTC lies. No where on the packaging does it state:

"Warning: contains applications that drains your battery faster, uses memory, uses precious space, and can not be shut down, nor removed". That might be against laws in Denmark.

********** phone. Sorry, Had this phone for 2 months, have been happy with it for 1 week, when I realized that I could NOT remove those applications (name of those are in the mail).

Massively successful group you have on Facebook, I guess you're not alone:rolleyes:

Why not put your phone on eBay and buy something that you want instead ?

Dunno what everyone's problem is with the battery.
I can start in the morning with 100%, and end in the evening with 70+%
The only reason it's not that hign now is because I use Andchat

(BTW: No taskkillers, nor juice defender)

Side note: How much of the apps installed do you actually use?

EDIT: Just read some parts of the site, u mad m8?
Seriously, half of it is just BS mad eby rage, especially the part of development being understaffed.
You clearly have no idea how everything works in reality.
HTC is now int he final part of development for 2.2, and this is the most crucial and time-taking phase: Testing. HTC has to test, exploit etc etc to make sure there are no bugs or that they are very well hidden. If there's a bug found, it goes back to development for fixing.
If HTC would release a 2.2 full of bugs, would that make you more happy?

EDIT2: Just checked, I could easily remove apps like facebook etc.
So if they are irritating you, delete them.?

Just appear to be another lumpy who'd be better with an iPhone so he doesn't have to use brain power to manage their phone effectively. The battery issue is heavily overstated by those without an understanding or willingness to understand how their phone OS works and what they need to do to ensure its running at optimum efficiency regarding apps.

The fact you personally lack the intellect to use it, does not make it a 'shitty crap gay phone'. And may I say that your eloquent grasp of the English language is, as made evident in that sentence, truly second to none?

Oh and incidentally, the attribute of being gay is hardly an appropriate descriptor for something negative in civilised society, now is it? In fact I know several such people, and while I'm certain there are lots of homosexual individuals out there who are truly horrific people, the ones I know are probably among the most amiable people I've ever met. And I'm pretty sure they're representative of the group as a whole.

Apologies for my brief jump on the political correctness bandwagon, I assure you all I'll be getting off at the next stop. ;) :p

If you wanted a device running stock android without the sense apps with very similar specs to the desire then why on earth didnt you buy the nexus one? lol.

Anyway, hope your next phone suits you better. Take care.

There is nothing wrong with the hardware,it is without doubt one of the best phones on the market.

If you dont like the software (as many people dont) then simply root your phone and then you can install any rom you like including the latest android 2.2.

All Things Root (Desire) - Android Forums

There is no need to return the phone you can customise it as you wish, thats the beauty of open source software like android ;)

    How?

Do you work for HTC? I have to charge my phone everyday. And I have no power sucking applications running. I can not remove facebook from MY phone. I can remove updates, that is it.

Okay buddy, do not make this personal. I hate Apple, and would never own an Apple product.

But since you DID make it personal, how did you great mind understand this puzzle? I understand it as, I have ALOT of applications running on my phone, that I have NO power over. I can not shut them down, nor can I delete them. How "do I run it effectively" then?

What is your native language? Mine is Danish, that is my excuse. I have been pissed for 1 month and 2 weeks. If you have been pissed for that long, I really would like to know your reaction, how how you would describe HTC. I have sent letter, mails and had telephone conversations with HTC. So per your definition, if you get mad at a piece of hardware you are not intelligent enough? That has NOTHING to do with anything. I have enough intelligence, I would appreciate if this would not get personal, but you apparently are not able to help me, so please... don't.

Because they are not sold in Denmark.

    1. Done that. Never found a rom that worked properly. They all have bugs and errors.
    2. It is illegal and voids the guarentee.

And you are correct. A BASIC android phone is the best thing ever. What pisses me off is what OTHER manufactors puts on the phone. Sorry if I did not make that clear before.

If you have rooted your Desire then you can stick loads of 2.1 ROMs on it that doesn't include any of the crap that comes presintalled. Thousands have done this and are fine with this, you know how to root so dig a bit deeper and learn how to remove the apps you don't want. Try over on XDA forum and others like it.

Hmm, I suppose that is my only option. I just never found a rom that worked properly. One I remember, didnt even have a dialer.

But thank you for giving me a serious answer, instead of attacking me and calling me stupid like two other immature people did.
I just hate the fact that this is the only way? I have to void my guarentee to PERHAPS be happy with my phone? What is that all about.

And for you others. Applications that are on my phone can NOT be removed from it. They are coded into the rom, if you can remove fx. Facebook, good for you. I can't.

Rooting and voiding your warranty is Android heaven, you either accept what HTC, Samsung etc give you or you start from scratch.

If you can root then you'll be able to get round the warranty problem anyway.

Here you go, you can avoid the Froyo ROMs for now (they are great but a little temperamental) but try the Pays 2.1 one, even takes away Sense for you so no HTC bollocks on it.

Not entirely. Because the bootloader has changed version from 0.75 to 0.80. That might be difficult for me to explain that.

But again, you might be right. Accept the crap that manufactors force down your throught, or root. Seriously...

I should have imported a Nexus One.

You can stick a Nexus One ROM on it if you want? It's the same phone.

You are rooted so I assume you're using something like Titanium Backup before flashing a ROM. It saves all your crap like messages etc.

No, i don't work for HTC.
For removing apps, have you tried: menu - settings - applications - manage - clickfonds an app - delete. (might be a bit off, my phone's in dutch.)

I know quite much about software development cause i do it myself.

And about my usage: i call a bit, send some texts, send some mails, listen to music alot, watch movies, browse quite alot and play some games on gameboid. I have 72% left as we speak.

    Sent from my Htc desire

I knew they were similar, not that they were the same.

Aight, I shall remember that, when I re-root it when my stress level has gone down.

Okay, I will say this one more time. I can NOT remove ANYTHING from the phone that is there from the start. Applications I install, can be removed, NOTHING else. I have no idea what special Desire you seem to have, but the ones on the market in Denmark does NOT allow this. Those are the prison models.

Seriously, don't you think I have tried to delete the applications? Can not be done.

And how the hell you have so much battery left is beyond me. If I play some game, for an hour, that uses AROUND 20-30% of the battery.

If I just browse the internet on my phone it takes ca. 20-30% for an hour of browsing.
