My phone won't start

Hello,

Hopefully I'm posting in the right place..

Anyway, I have a Samsung GT i5500 and I put to download an app from the market (roughly 2.6mb in size) and it started lagging like hell, so I left it to it to finish download and went to sleep. Now when I'm up the phone is down and I can't get past the Samsung logo... Tried taking out the battery, but still the same.

Anyone know how to fix this? The phone is fairly old but still has warranty but the warranty here is pretty annoying to give to and I wouldn't like to replace it with a new one either.

Tried just now and still the same.. :/

New development: When I plugged in my charger and tried turning it on now it goes on and off constantly...

After an hour of heavy on/off torture it somehow booted.
