Hi, I have just purchased MyBackup Pro, and its just not working!

Every time I try and back up, either online or to the SD Card I get this error:

'Error during backup: Error opening D B'

I purchased it because my contacts when reimported from the HTC Hero Orange firmware update, synched with google, went crazy! I now realise I should have turned off the google synch, but I kept a backup of my backup and have restored this to the SD Card. This gives me the error:

    'Could not get backup set.'

    Can anyone help?

I have been using MyBackup Pro since it has been on the market ... with no issue like this ...

My suggestion is Email the Developer for help ... I think that is the best plan ....

Hey, Thanks for the quick reply. Have just dropped them an email. Hopefully when they reply I will post it here.

I have had nothing but problems since installing the orange firmware update... is this common?
    Cheers

    Here is there reply:

The error opening DB is an SD Card error, which is common with these phones. First, make sure the phone is not connected to the PC when doing a Backup or a Restore. If there is still a problem, try reinstalling the application, and have a look at this.

As for the 'could not get backup set' this means it could not find any existing backup files... Where did you place the file?

    Thank you,

I had the same issue. After reading the response I realized my phone was connected to my PC. I unplugged the USB and ran the update again. It worked perfectly.

    Great Application!

I experienced the same issue on a Galaxy Captivate. The solution was simple ... once I figured it out! I was trying to write to the SD card but by default MyBackup is looking for the external SD card.

To fix this I simply (from with MyBackup) did menu -> Options -> uncheck "Use SD Card for local"

    Now it works!

Open up MyBackup. Press the "menu" button then select "Options"

Now be sure the first box about the SD card is UNCHECKED

I think this setting is only for phones that have shared internal memory.
