myPlayer Update - DONT!!!

Hi Folks

Just seen a tweet that says the company that prouduces myPlayer have released an update, DO NOT UPDATE!!

The update is because the BBC has said that the app breaches their copyright and so the update stops you from watching Live BBC programmes.

Just thought i would post this for anyone who uses it

by chance i read the coments on it what you do is go to a site called 4shared.com and its called sns.myplayer-1apk its the one thats 11 days old

Glad you got it sorted but i think the days of this app are numbered, even with the updated version i cant get it to show any other channels except BBC ones and its also gone from the Market!!

Does anyone know of a good app that can play Live uk TV??

Still on the market for me and old version is still able to download all channels (downloading the last Buzzcocks as I type). I think its days are numbered though

Feel sorry for the dev. People should direct their anger at the BBC not him.

Downloading is fine, but try watching live streams of BBC channels.

Major thanks to papa. Now have app restored to lovely Iplayer version. So are ITV, C4 etc downloads / streams not available on this old version?

Not that I want them anyway. Just discovered my Desire can stream the mobile iplayer content anyway,anyway - which is what I normally do - but the old app is worth having for the download option either way.

Great find with catch up, Dick. After the myplayer update fiasco, I now have iplayer site for streaming, old myplayer app for downloading iplayer stuff, and tv catch up for everything else.. including channels I can't get where I live! Heaven!

Hi

Like a lot of people I have been zapped by the Myplayer update and as I only used it to download BBC progs to view/listern to later I uninstalled it.

I now hear it is possible to roll back the updated myplayer to the earlyer one, which obviously I can no longer do.

So I am asking for help, is there any way I can get back to the old version, any way I can get another copy of the old version, or is there any other app out there that will allow access to the Iplayer.

Hopping some one out there can help

Does mean never hitting "update all" though.

If you are rooted, Titanium Backup (possibly just the paid version) can "detatch" an app from the market. So I did this to avoid accidentally updating this one in the future.

TVCatchUp is great over WiFi but can take some buffering over 3G.

I wonder if it might be possible to install the marketplace version of myplayer (which is available 29 Nov 10 in case anyone reckons its no longer available) so you can get some of the live TV stations, AND the sns.myplayer-1apk to get BBC i-player. I tried it but it says one will overwrite the other.

Or have I just taken zealous over-optimism to a new level!?
