Root Nandroid Restore Failing

I can't get my Nandroid backup restored.

It says:
ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1
Checking MD5 sums. . .
MD5 mismatch!

Does anyone know what this means? I know it's finding my SD card, because it allowed me to make a new backup (on top of showing me the backups I have). I'm trying to restore because my phone starting going crazy this morning and majority of its applications are force closing now.

No, I've always let Nandroid do all of its own naming.

Try this: Use rom manager to flash the alternate amon RA recovery. Boot into recovery and make a backup. These will now be stored in a folder on your SD card called nandroid. Been using this recovery since I had an LG ally with never a single problem. Don't use rom manager to ever flash anything.

I was getting the same error and it turned out my sd card was screwed up.

Yeah, turns out my SD card is all messed up. I had to use a separate reader to access the files on my card, and it's going painfully slow. . .
