need app to boost volume, any ideas?

either I am going deaf, which may be true, or the Tab needs a little more volume when using skype mobile

My Brother had this problem with his Desire when he updated to Froyo, the internal speaker seemed very faint.

He tried all manner of App's to see if he could cure it and just when he was about to send it back for HTC to have a look at I told him to try the App 'eRay'.
Although eRay is a a Task Manager it also holds many other offerings, one being a splendid array of audio controls.
If you go for the paid version there's even an excellent Widget that allows you to take control of all the Audio resources pushing them beyond what the Volume +/- can achieve.

Anyway, he tried it and was amazed..... It not only re-activated the lost audio but improved it way past what he used to have.

Try the free first but don't forget the paid gives you further control.

thanks for the suggestion. unfortunately when I tried this app, it just showed me the standard settings for the volume and was unable to do anything above and beyond. good idea though.

What about other Apps, does the lack of sound effect everything or is it simply located with Skype?

You can do a google search for TurnItToEleven.zip. I tried this on my rooted Droid X and it did slightly increase the audio volume. Some have reported up to double the volume, but mine was slight. You will need a rooted phone and ROM Manager to flash from SD card.
