need help, black screen and vibratingSupport

    Yesterday i pushed the power button and unlocked the phone. It went to the home screen for a few seconds and then went to a black screen and started vibrating every second or so. Ive been trying to find information about it all day. The only way to get it to stop vibrating is to pull the battery. When i put the battery back in it turns on by itself and flashes the Samsung logo for a second, goes away, flashes logo again then blank screen and vigrating. If i hold JUST the volume keys (holding power button also, doesnt change anything) when i put the battery in, after the second logo it says "Verifying internal MMC block . . . . ." Its a couples lines of yellow text. its only displayed for about a half second (had to do it about 20 times to read the whole thing) If i plug the charger in (to either wall charger or laptop), it starts vibrating right away, no logo screen. If, while plugged in i remove and replace battery, the image of a battery shows for a second (like when charging), then back to vibrating. If while plugged into my laptop, i remove battery, hold down JUST volume keys, replace battery it will bring up a warning menu that says something about a custome OS. at the bottom of the menu it says press volume up to continue or volume down to cancel and restart. this screen is also only on for a split second then goes blank and vibrates. From everything i have expierienced and read about this, i think it is the power button stuck pressed (visually it isnt and it still clicks when pressed). I have tried everything i can think of to get it to turn on, even called AT&T support and Samsung support, they both said to send it in for warrenty. I may send it to MobileTechVideos.com, even though AT&T is sending a replacement. I got the phone mid Dec 2011, it has worked flawlessly until now. The phone is completley stock other than some games and apps from the market. So i guess my questions are, after that too long of a description, 1) Any other suggestions or things to try? 2) Is there ANY way to recover data such as apps, word documents, photos, videos etc.? 3) If i send it to those people to fix and it is just the power button, my data should stay on it, right?     ...very odd. Seems to be a hardware issue, versus software. A shame you have to swap it.

    Try booting into 'safe mode' again. Just maybe something different will happen this time.

    Mine did this too. Several times. Yesterday, I was using Maps to voice input an address. I accidentally hit the power on button and the phone started emitting this "shrieking" tone. I finally pressed the power button again and the horrible noise stopped, but the phone turned itself off. I have been unable to restart it after all of the usual methods, the battery is fully charged, etc. PLEASE HELP !

    I have this same exact problem and am looking for a solution. I went to the AT&T store earlier and they couldn't figure out the problem. I got my phone around the same time you did and is still under warranty. They are sending me a replacement. I wish there was a solution to this annoying problem.

    I have the same problem. my phone stopped working, when I turn it on the screen only starts for a second, after samsung logo appears stops working. even then responds to the touch and the phone works.

    if I press several times the power button, the screen works again for a second.

    my phone has only one month of use, and reuse tmobile me claiming warranty and phone received moisture. even when the seals are fine and no sign of liquid.

    thank you very much for your response, I still have two years of contract.

    my phone has only one month of use, and when i went to tmobile to see if they can resolve this; they just revoke the guarantee claiming that the phone received moisture inside. (even when the seals are fine and no sign of liquid)

    thank you very much for your response, I still have two years of contract and really need to fix my galaxy.

    DUDE, i literally had the EXACT SAME THING happen to me today about two hours ago. i was close to throwing the phone at the wall, because nothing seemed to work. restarted a thousand times, held down the power and volume buttons in every possible combination, plugged it to the wall, the computer, the car charger, everything. what finally ended up working was taking the batter out, and holding the volume down button while i put the battery back in. as soon as i saw the first logo pop up, i started tapping the volume down button rapidly and the phone booted up normal. i have NO IDEA if what i was doing made the phone work, but hey, its damn well worth a shot eh? good luck

    SOLUTION: I just ran into the same problem with my Samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket i727. This is a simple fix you will need a micro screw driver and something to pry the back off the phone to reach the board inside, I used a knife. First take battery and sim card out along with any SD card you may have. Then take all screws out of the back of the phone. Then with a pry tool carefully pry off the back cover, easiest to start near volume buttons and work your way around the phone. Once cover is off you will notice a blue cord that runs down the left side of where your battery would normally be. On each end of the blue cord there are little connectors. If one has come loose plug it back in. Or if they are still plugged in unplug them and reconnect them. Then put your sim card back in along with battery and turn it on. It worked the first time I tried it

    The same thing happened to my husband's galaxy s2 when he was experimenting with a tablet charger. Then when he plugged his phone into the original galaxy s2 charger it turned right back on and works normally now. So if it happens to u, just try plugging it into another samsung galaxy s2 charger and that should fix it.

    ya mine was just doing this ... i just pluged it in to its charger and left it there for like 15 mins came back and it was all right:)

    I just had the same problem like 20 minutes ago...I thought it might be because of water because it rained yesterday..after researching on net i found it to be a common smasung problem.. I have a galaxy grand quattro which is more than a year old and out of warranty..

    After several failed attempts at holding the down key after phone starts up, my brother tried what he calls something like " custom boot". Just hold both the volume key and power key after putting the battery in the phone and it started normally. I kept my sd card out in fear of formatting..but it din seem to take away any of my data anyway.
