Root Need help with first time root

Alright so ive had my epic 4g for a few months and love it, but i really would like to make use of functions that require rooting (specifically wireless tether). Is there an easy way to root without loosing everything on my phone; or at least an effective way to restore if it does require wiping? Thanks very much

Easiest way is to do the one click in the sticky thread "wip" at the top of the forum.

You won't lose anything.

I was just trying to see if your videos were on this forum as they have been a great help and make the whole rooting and flashing process so easy!
