Need help with TED

Don't know if anyone can assist with this. There is a site called TED: Ideas Worth Spreading. It's fabulous. At one point I was able to pull this site up and watch the videos. Now, the videos won't display. There a message at the beginning saying that to maximize enjoyment of the site you should download Macromedia Flash 8. But when I try to do this, Adobe tells me that "Flash Player not avilable for your device". I know that in the past I have viewed these videos with no problem. I've downloaded dozens of apps and all kinds of junk, but nothing (I would think) that should alter my ability to play these videos. If anyone could give me any kind of advice, I would be grateful.
Thanks
