Android automatically loads apps in the background in anticipation of you requiring them. The idea being the app will load faster. You have free RAM so Android is trying to help you. However, it may not necessarily have got it right in earlier versions. Even though Android is based on Linux, which is a pretty robust operating system.

To help you, lets start at the beginning..

What version of Android are you running? What is your BaseBand No?

    From your phone.
    Menu
    Settings
    About Phone.
    BaseBand No?

OK that's an early Asian Firmare from March this year. Things didn't really start to work well on Android until JD1 was released, which was in April.

My first suggestion would be to reboot the phone, and see how it goes.

Next install an app called TasKiller from Market. Set it up to AutoKill apps when in sleep mode, but ignore those apps you do wish to run. Like your Home App.

It also might be worth considering updating to a later firmware, although that may have to be a European version.

Put your phone on a desk. Step well back and stare long and hard at it.

DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO TOUCH IT.

    When the screen goes blank...

    It's in sleep mode.

    More commonly know as standby.

Try a full hardware reset. harsh I know, but has been know to work.

I can give you a link to download TasKiller (as it's free). You can copy this to your SD card and install it from there..

Lemme know if you want it.

More than likely. You just need to backup your important data, including your providers APN (Access Point Names) settings.

    Menu
    Settings
    Wireless & Networks
    Mobile Networks
    Access Point Names
    Your Provider

Take a note of these settings
