Ok, so I rooted my Droid, and today while I was on the phone, it slipped out of my hand and right into a puddle of water, now, I can get it into she recovery screen but no further... I really need to know how to unroot, without being able to mount my droid, maybe some adb or something.. please help

If you can get to recovery (sprecovery or stock?) then you can flash a stock 2.0.1 image on to it, from there you can just delete the SU app if it is there, the command for adb is rm /system/app/SU.apk. Do you have insurance? They won't replace your Droid if you don't, water damage isn't covered. Check the little circle inside the battery compartment and if it is white with red crosses your good but if it is mostly red then your SOL without insurance.

Oh you can't mount it? Hmmm you need to use the push command to get the ROM to the sdcard but without SPRecovery your screwed.

Let me pose a question. Let's say the water damage sensors are just fine and the phone is still under warranty. Will they replace the phone under warranty?

No reason why they wouldn't. Unless it has some serious dents or scratches. As for signs of being rooted they won't dig very deep, if you have a stock theme and no SU app then you should be fine.

Thanks for the reply. That is one of the major reasons I am hesitant to root my device. I have the worst luck and that scenario would most likely happen to me the hour............no minute after I rooted the damn thing.:D

First thing, you should never turn on a phone that has been dropped in a Puddle of water. It will cause further damage to the device. Put the phone in a bag of rice, without the battery and cover on, let it sit overnight. Good Luck if you Dont have Ins.

Yeah...just man up and pay the deductible.

Lying about getting it stolen won't get you anywhere. I'm pretty sure you need to file a report with the police too.

water damage is not covered by insurance. still gotta pay the deductible. But I have it in some rice right now.. I tried to boot it up, got it to the recovery screen, but when the red eye shows up, it says that it is ok to program.. What does that mean?

Um, I'm pretty sure water damage is covered by insurance. That's why you can get a new device. Whenever you have insurance replace your device, you pay the deductible. That's how insurance works, right?
