Alright guys I have the Mytouch and it's a love hate thing, I love the phone but hate the speed and the keypad (even after I put the HTC one on) So heres the thing, im still under my 14 trial and am thinking about leaving Mytouch for the Droid BUT I dont know alot about that phone, yeah it has a 16g card and a soft and hard keypad but that alone wont make me pay close to $40 a month more to be with Verizon... So how is the speed on the droid does it lag as bad as the mytouch also what about the soft and hard keypads?? I guess what im asking is should I pay $40 more a month and get the droid oh is it just a waste?

And im not looking to root a phone just yet, so dont tell me to root the mytouch lol.

personally i would stay away from the droid and verizon. the only thing that would make it worth getting is if 1. it wasnt made by motorola & 2. it wasnt on verizon. I would root the mytouch but that isnt and option for you or hold out a little longer and see what is up for grabs first quarter of next year. The G1 is still a better phone IMO than any other device out now but i wouldnt spend that much on a device with what's upcoming

Spending the $199.99 is no big deal since I spent $149.99 for the mytouch, and really if I hold the phone till Q1 I dont think ill wanna do an upgrade since ill have to pay full price. Is there something about the Droid you dont like? I know you said its on Verizon but where I live Detroit, MI Verizon is the best service here. I just cant find anyone to tell me about the speed/lag and how the touch screen is on the Droid, I played with one at the store but that was so slow do to the 1,000,000,000 apps people loaded on it lol

if Verizon had the best service where I live then I would go with them. it just sucks to have to settle with a company because of that...especially if the service is over-priced. if i were to go with Verizon again i personally would pick up the eris but it lacks the hard keyboard you are looking for. the problem i have with Verizon is personal and everyone has their own experiences. i was with them for ten years and watched them get worse and worse as they got bigger. and they just raised their etf for "advanced" devices which the FCC is looking into now but will probably not do anything about it.

I work with a few people that picked up the droid but have recently returned for the eris mainly because of loose screens and battery covers. I have seen some posts about fixes for these issues but I think it's wrong to charge that much for something and the consumer has to make their own fixes out of the box.

Nice choice...I love my Droid...There is a bit of lag (especially when typing in Forums), but it's much quicker than the Eris (I got that first and traded it)...

To those who talk about paying more for Verizon, I guess you just pay for what you get...In Southern California, Verizon is hands down the best. VERY few if any dropped calls, while my friends on Sprint, Tmobile and ATT all drop calls consistently...I'll gladly pay a higher price to have reliable service.
