I just bought the htc wildifre s 3 days ago and I only have 25 mb of memory left, which is basically nothing!
I have 6 apps in the internal memory, the rest have been moved to the sd card, using app 2 sd card.

Im looking for an app that will send my text messages to my sd card.
I DO NOT need to view them on the computer; I say this because most apps convert the txts to xml format for the computer. I just need it to save on the SD card in regular text message format. Therefore I can delete text messages so it won't clog my internal memory (and reject newer text messages) and save them to the sd card for later viewing .

SMS backup and restore only sent the xml format to my sd card. I need the regular version of the text to be sent to be sent to the sd card therefore I can view it. The idea is to preserve as much memory as possible so it won't slow down my phone and so it won't reject newer text messages

I know some of you are asking why I would go through the trouble just to save old text messages, but it is for personal reasons

Root your phone, there's several tutorials here, both for gsm and cdma phones. Once you're rooted, install titanium backup and use it to delete bloatware. You should now have plenty of free space.

Hi, Anroid-Newbie, and welcome to the forums!

I'm moving your post to the Wildfire forums so other users with your device can better assist you.

This is the major issue with HTC Wildfire S for most people faced. I rooted my phone then only got the solution for memory problem and lost about 6 months of warranty.

Goto 'Settings' -> 'SD & Phone Storage' -> there press 'Make more space' might increase some memory and do this often. A reboot will also increase some memory.

Hope this might be helpful !...

You can try to move your apps to your SD card but it won't help very much. I could only have about 10 downloaded apps all together and got the warning all the time. Now that i have my phone rooted, i have a bunch of apps and still have around 80MB memory.
Love this phone but i hate that HTC handicapped it with such low internal memory....

In my opinion, this is the best guide for rooting your phone:
You just have to ensure you are aware if your phone is Marvel (SIM card use) or Marvelc (No SIM card use) as there is a slight difference.

I also do suggest you root your phone. If you follow the instructions carefully, there is nothing to worry about. Everything should work fine. And after that, install Link2SD. You will need to create a partition on your SD card but once it's done, you will easily be able to install some 20-30 apps and still have loads of space

Root is the way to go. the guide mentioned above is really complete and easy to follow. Just read it twice before trying it. Take it S L O W L Y and you'll be fine.
I did mine over 2 evenings (I hate to rush) and now have around 60Mb free.

Likewise. I have usually about 80-90 mb free but you should know that it will invalidate you warranty.

Having said that, I always had more than 45mb free before I rooted it.
