I bought the this ZTE merit (Z990G) as a last ditch effort to keep my smartphone use within a semi reasonable budget. Problem is, the SD card that comes with the phone removes most of the data that is put on it any time I turn off the phone. Regardless of the app, all that remains after powering down and then powering up of the phone is an inaccessible file much smaller than the original app. I could leave my important apps on my phone's internal storage, as when I clear out all the pre-loaded junk, I have nearly 100 megs of space...... Which brings me to my next problem. Google Play keeps redownloading Google Play Books, Music, Google Search, and Documents to Go, which represents about 40 mB of useless apps that I have no need for. I can't block it from redownloading them. My final issue is with the phone itself, which may warrant my returning it. It is forciing me to only run Android version 2.3.5.... with no ability to update the Android OS. Help me before this phone becomes a target for my 12 gauge. Please.
