Network Adress Translation

i am running a motorola triumph with a cm7 rom created by gannon my carrier is virgin mobile i was able to use my hotspot to connect my ps3 to the playstation network. for 2 weeks i was able to play black ops 2 with very little lag over a 3g and 2g network and my NAT was (open) then one day i cut my hotspot on and i could not get passed the match making screen on black ops 2 and i had noticed the NAT had changed to (strict) is there any way to get around this sudden change or atleast change the nat to (type 2)??? i have read that its on virgin mobiles end but i also read about people using a different network or something like that... please help.
