    Hey everybody. I have a few concerns with my HTC Vivid.

    First of all, this is my first smartphone and I LOVE this thing. I'm a Job Corps student and it allows me to have internet in my room for Xbox live and such. Perfect. Amazing. Love it.

    So, right now my issue is this... Is it supposed to never see 3G? The specs say that it's compatible with "LTE (AWS/700), HSPA+/UMTS Tri-band (850/1900/2100MHz) and quad-band GSM/GPRS/ EDGE (850/900/1800/1900MHz)"

    However, I go into the testing properties (*#*#4636#*#*) and look to see what network setting it's on, and it's on "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" which I assume the GSM is Edge while the WCDMA is 4G. Obviously at my location (Astoria, OR) I won't see LTE, ever.

    I can't ever change the phone off of the network setting it is on. If I do, it auto switches back to "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" or just changes back when I exit. What network code is 3G and can my phone see it, or should see it?

    At this Job Corps center, 4G is spotty. Unless I'm up in my room, which sits high enough on a hill to see a 4G tower, I can't get good reception. Any web browsing or internet-required apps I use are extremely slow on Edge. Network Booster app allows me to drop the network and try and connect to 4G, which works sometimes, but the 4G isn't good enough so it goes back to Edge. Friends of mine on ATT can see 3G just fine in locations where I can't get 4G.

    I'm really trying to get the most out of this phone. It's truly incredible and I definitely use 5gigs of data a month.
