2.2 pushed it to a max of 800MHz. Mine's running currently at 700 with 800 max.

I thought 2.2 only bumped the Droids to 600mhz. Moto didn't bump us up that far.

I would like to know how you can see your clock speed also snapcase. I know that theres SetCPU For Root Users... but you dont mention if you're rooted or not. Never heard of an app that lets stock droids see their processor's clock speed.

    Nope, sorry.

Unrooted 2.2 FRG22D, max clock 800. According to System Panel lite my current clock speed is 652, so that right there is over 600.

Quadrant Standard also confirms that my current frequency is around 600MHz with a max of 800 and a minimum of 125. (quadrant seems to be a little less accurate than System Panel for current clock).

If max is 600, my phone is God.

Ok, well I see that now in Quad. But if the phone only shows it's running
at 600Mhz, what does it matter if the max is 800Mhz. If I am missing
something here, please let me know.

Your phone up- and down-clocks as needed. If it can do 9800 max it will do it only as it needs it.

IOW, it's like the accelerator on your car - the speedometer says it can do, say ,140, but at any given moment you're probably not doing 140.

A good test would be to run the quadrant benchmarks. Other ways would be to find other benchmark apps that put the ICs through their paces...LinPack is one I know about, and I am sure there are others....

If you are rooted, this will not affect you.

Motorola underclocked the droids processor. It say 800mhz bcuz that's the max moto set but they kept it at 550mhz. They only bumped the droid up 50mhz in the froyo update leaving it a 600mhz. It just may go a bit over here and there but not dramatically because moto set that limit. The only way you can get higher is if you installed a custom kernel.

To the OP. since your update you might have to just restart your phone (power down for a few min) to get the market to update. You can check to see if your market is updated by going to the downloads tab (Menu key>downloads), if there is an option to "Allow Automatic Update" then your market should have adobe 10.1 there, you just might have to search for it.

No... if you are rooted you can do 800 Mhz with the stock kernel. I use OverclockWidget, which lets you set min and max and see your processor speed in real-time. Of course, that widget requires root at well.

I was speaking of the STOCK droids. He's unrooted and says his clock speed was 800 max. I was saying that may be true but motorola set the clock speed for STOCK droids at 600mhz and it wont let him get higher than that. Maybe, just maybe 50mhz more but not a dramatic* high clock speed up to 800mhz.

*i say dramatic in the droids case.*

yeah, in even my first post in this thread, my clock was at 700. They raised the max to 800, but it's unlikely you'll push it all the way there. I can't remember what the 2.1 numbers were offhand, but before doing the first 2.2 update I ran quadrant and linpack. The max was less than 800 before the update (really wish I had written it down).

So yeah, with stock 2.2 you can technically reach 800MHz if the system calls for it. If you root you can easily overclock it to 1GHz.
