ok im pretty sure i got everything in right, its exactly how it says in the manual, but the desire just wont turn on, and when i try charing it, the green and orange lights just flicker, i heard the orange one is supposed to stay solid orange, anyway i heard it comes with a bit of charge anyway, but ive been trying the power button for ages and just nothing happens...

    help?

Doesn't sound right, have you tried removing and replacing the battery to make sure its connected properly. Also make sure its fully plugged in and not loose. How are you charging it? USB via the PC or the socket plug extension?

Best to check the obvious before calling the unit/battery as faulty.

Only the orange light should show when you are charging. Sounds faulty unfortunately

Perhaps the charger is faulty? Have you tried another (any USB charger) or charging via a USB port of your PC?

Might be worth trying to charge it without the SD card and SIM too, just in case this is a warning that one of them is seated incorrectly or something (it's a long shot but better to check before sending the whole thing back I guess).

If you bought it from a UK provider, might be worth popping into the store with it and see if they have a different cable/battery you can try. USB cables are pretty indestructible to be honest but they make so many, statistically there have to be a few faulty ones.

Take it back to wherever you got it from, they will replace it on the spot.
