Hi -- Tim here, from NYC, had to switch to Sprint from Verizon for new job, and job's system doesn't play well with BES, so am moving on from blackberrry 9630 to the EVO. Am far from new to tech and smartphones, but this is first android.
So far, am very impressed, although marginally annoyed by the need to kill tasks (although it's still better than the BB, which only let you do one thing at a time...). Am looking how to keep stopped software I don't want to run, like Amazon MPC and Voice Search. Will search and/or post.

I love my EVO! I use Advanced Task Killer, I found it in the market, and it will kill tasks automatically for you.) Im a newbie at my EVO too, but I love the darn thing, now all I need is for netflix instant streaming to be on it, and I will hug a squirrel from happiness. lol

Really no need to kill tasks at all. Plus the only way Amazon and a few others won't run is if you root your phone and delete them, Android 2.2 does an amazing job at managing tasks for you
