New phone and needing help on voicemail password

Got a new Samsung s6 active not long ago and came from an iPhone. Had no password setup on my old phone but my new one is wanting a password to get to my voicemail. Is there a default one?
Carrier is AT&T bit they never said anything about a password for the voicemail when I got the phone and they set it up

Hi Champ198 and Welcome to Android Forums.

And yes AT&T you have to enter a pin/password to listen or even use visual voicemail.
What I would do is call AT&T and ask them to reset/clear your pin/password and then you can follow the prompts to create a new pin/password.
Then you can setup your Visual Voicemail app.

Usually the setup for the password is in the manual. Some use 1234, I've seen all zeros. Samsung would set it up this way so a user could put in their own password for mail. Samsung can't predict your password on a new phone, so it's some sort of generic.

Voicemail resides on the carrier's computers, not your phone.
Just hold down the 1 key at the dialer and follow the instructions.

Tried that also and it just prompts me to put in a password guess I'll just call them didn't see anything in the manual unless I missed it

Try the last 4 numbers of your phone number, this is the default unless you changed it.
