If you get a phone from Verizon, (a Droid to be specific), and in like 6 months it breaks, since its still under warranty, Verizon would replace the phone. So if you get a new phone, does your 1 year warranty for the phone start over? since it's a completely different phone?

    Thanks :)

nope, not even if they give you a brand new phone on the last day of your warranty. your warranty starts from the date of original purchase.

I really do need a new phone though and i do have insurance. I'm not exactly sure on how the whole claim thing works to file for a lost or broken phone but do you know approximatley how much it would be for a new one?

It should be 50 or 80 depending on the device.

The claim would be $89 and it would most probably be a refurbished device through Asurion as well. Also a warranty claim does have either the remainder of the 1 year manufacture warranty or 90 days from replacement, which ever is longer. ie:If the phone is replaced 11 months after purchase for a manufacture defect, you would have a 90 day warranty on replacement phone.

So if you've had your phone for like a year and a half, would it still be $89 for a replacement?

yes, you would be paying the Deductible directly to Asurion.

Not quite true. Actually, it's 90 days or the remainder of the original 1 year warranty (doesn't matter if you have the Extended Warranty), whichever is longer.

Also, if you get a "brand new phone" that does indeed come with its own new warranty. CLNR (Certified-Like-New-Replacement) or FRU (Field Replacement Unit) phones are not brand new.

My Asurion insurance replacement was a BNIB Dinc with all accessories, cost $89.00 which included overnight shipping.
Only negative: I did not receive a AMOLED screen, I called and asked why? None in stock
