FWIW My friend works for a company that qualifies phones for phone manufacturers before they are sold to a wireless carrier. They are currently testing a CDMA phone with a large 4.3" display and an HDMI port. I'll post back if I can get more info.

Also, why would you want an hdmi port on a phone?

I guess if the phone supported HD recording then you could hook it up to your TV and watch your recordings in HD on the big screen. Just another marketing gimmick if you ask me. I would not really use that feature. I guess some people would.

Interesting...even the HD2 doesn't have an HDMI port:

@grokr989 I hope you get more information soon. I understand why he can't get any pictures. Sounds like an awesome job...wouldn't want to risk it especially in this economy. Thanks for sharing the info though

Your welcome. My best guess is the Motorola shadow we've heard about but it could very well be something else too.

I'll try to at least find out the manufacturer.

I doubt it's the Supersonic because that is supposed to be a Wimax device. They test CDMA devices exclusively so whatever it is, it is CDMA.

I'm sorry I think you're confusing the capabilities of CDMA/GSM and the Wimax thing. Sprint uses ALL CDMA phones - meaning it doesn't use SIM cards and the data is encrypted/decoded differently than GSM phones. It has nothing to do with WiMax at all. Wimax is just a new (not really that new) radio frequency (802.16e) that is broadcasted for data transfer. So - yeah you can have both CDMA and Wimax in the same phone.

yeah. i would say try your best to at least find out the:

    1) manufacturer of the phone, and
    2) physical keyboard or not.

because a guy in the incredible thread (page 77ish lol) said he recently was shown a 4.3'' 1 ghz android phone from motorola with NO physical keyboard that was VZW bound. it was from a tester/programmer or something. so that matches up with everything you've mentioned so far....

I was able to find out from him that the phone being tested is made by Motorola.

I'll try to find out wether or not it has a physical keyboard now.

yeah, or at least play around with it some more and use the camera, video, see what version of android its running, etc. anything you can squeeze out of this guy would be awesome! also, just honestly ask him his impressions (and try really hard to understand him and his thick accent lol).

Per someone who works at motorola and posts at howardforums, the shadow does.
