    ROM Download

So here is a new leaked stock and unrooted ROM for the Vibrant.

    Whats new:
    - HD Camrecorder App.
    - Task manager App.
    - Gps Seems faster.
    - New widgets.
    - And fix a lot of lag things.

It's still 2.1, but it's something to play with until 2.2. Old rooting method still works. You have to flash this with Odin.

Dear Admin, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this is an official release by Samsung or T-Mobile.

It was released by samfirmware.com which is not an official Samsung site.

This ROM Rocks, Very easy to flash, There is a new task manager, and swipe now has a mic, Text to speech. Very fast and snappy, IMO this might be the official Rom update beta in the testing phase. Compas is dead on w this. If anyone needs help w this let me know.

Who made this ROM? I don't understand what the point of this ROM was. Clearly our phones should have released with this software.

    Where did you hear this?

This is true, I am just curious to know why would android release one in its built. It does not ask if you want to kill a running app, Instead it ask if you want to stop this app.

It uses the built-in process manager..... its the end result of idiots not understanding the OS, begging for a form of task manager... so it was given to them to shut them up...
Now that being said let's move this NON_windows mobile OS forward...

I saw this last night on XDA. Is it just me or is XDA down right now? There was talk of making a version that can be flashed through recovery.

Yea xda is down. This update rocks. Its fast, smooth, less lag, I/o is faster in quadrant, GPS works awesome, compass is a lot better still needs work, signal is better, has force wcdma option, the accelerometeris perfect and don't need android sensor data.

Just need froyo, oh and Odin is simple to use. A monkey can do it.

Can someone help point in the right direction for how to install Odin on a Mac, then what steps need to be taken to flash a ROM? Thanks ahead of time!

I installed it though Odin3 and it soft bricked my phone. Now I can't get into download mode to flash again. Each time I reboot the phone and type adb reboot download, it only goes back into recovery mode. I have tried all the different combo's with the volume keys and it only will go into recovery mode...... I am hoping a version comes out that can be done via an update.zip file and pushed via ADB.

the .rar file has a password?
  23. 30glock

    30glock Active Member

The password is on xda, I cant remember it though, It did not ask me for a password. Using odin 3_v1.0, There is a zip file on xda you just unzip and drop the pit and tar file in there slots and hit start.

    30glock,

I assume you're using this rom still? If so, what is your Quadrant score?
  25. 30glock

    30glock Active Member

Just checked it and the score is 936, Oh btw battery life has improved greatly, Also this score is w/o any lag fix, I am just rooted. GPS 12 sats in view locked onto 9. that is a first for me.
